Most of the areas for rock climbing are situated toward the north of Kathmandu Valley in the vicinity of Nagarjun forest and the Shivapuri Watershed and wildlife reserve. Because this is a national park and the other a protected area, trips to these places can be combined with hiking, bird watching and other activities.
